Thanksgiving 2008

We spent our Thanksgiving on the Teague farm in North Carolina... as always the kids had a ball
Uncle Reggie hooked up the carriage out and gave Cass a workout! Always a HUGE hit!
Here is Drew in the top of the big magnolia tree
These 4 had such a great time together... out early giving the horses treats

And, the Floor Doesn't Lay Itself...

This has been a very common sight these days... that is either Chris or Pop, hard to tell from this angle... ha, ha
Momma gets in on the action... they don't trust me the power nailer... supposedly I can't hurt anything w/ the rubber hammer... we'll see
And, don't let the clean clothes fool you... I'm working hard

Here is a bit of the finished product, although it is very dirty... btw, we hired out the tile work

Well... The Walls Don't Paint Themselves

We have been painting up a storm... prime the whole house, then everything needs at least 2 coats of color. So, needless to say, a long few days.

Pop was jealous of us doing all this work by ourselves, so he came to join the fun

and here is Paige in her construction worker uniform... this includes 12 layers of clothing (b/c the temps have been bitter cold), a hat (b/c a little too much of the paint was ending up in the hair), an energy drink, and some cool accessory like a paint roller or rubber mallet
Here we find Chris in his natural habitat... this happens to be the master bathroom

Notice there are no pics of the girls or Nana... well, thanks to Nana- the girls had a super weekend away from the constuction zone, we all ate very well, and some a lot of much needed laundry got done!!

There is a Front Porch Where a Huge Hole Used To Be...

The front porch now has concrete and a parking pad has been pouredWe are just going to have gravel from the parking pad to the street, especially until we are sure nothing else needs to be graded and we don't need a retaining wall

Just for fun... a little panoramic view of the fall color off the back deck

A Little Peek Inside

Not that you can tell much from the pictures, but we have the sheet-rock almost finished. The final sanding and ceiling treatment should be done by Wed... so, here comes the hard work for us. Painting and flooring, which we are planning on doing ourselves. Come on, how hard can it be... kidding!

First: Having nothing to do w/ house progress, the girls... they are troopers for hanging out at the house all the time
Now: looking out the kitchen bay windows
Next: looking toward foyer from living room
Finally: opposite- looking into living room f/ the foyer
